Humble Beginnings
Yvonne Patterson-Burbach (the ‘Bird Lady’) had her first ‘pawakeet’ (parakeet) at the age of two. She has always loved nature more than anything. This passion led Yvonne to embark on an incredible journey during college. Working as a horticulturist she kept ‘Snowball’, a wild-caught Moluccan cockatoo she still has, a macaw, and an Amazon parrot who sang opera, amongst the acres of flowers. It didn’t take long to realize the public’s fascination with her birds, which led to the creation of Wings of Love.

Yvonne Patterson-Burbach (the ‘Bird Lady’) had her first pet bird at the age of two. Birds have fascinated people for thousands of years as a universal symbol of freedom of mind and spirit. This passion led Yvonne Patterson-Burbach to embark on an incredible journey. While in college Yvonne worked as a horticulturist and kept ‘Snowball’, a wild-caught Moluccan (salmon-crested) cockatoo, a macaw and an opera singing Amazon parrot amongst the acres of flowers. It didn’t take long to realize the public’s fascination with her birds, which led to the creation of Wings of Love, Inc.
Our riveting bird shows bring incredible avian and horticultural worlds to audiences in a fun yet educational way. Imagine experiencing the graceful ‘silent flight’ of an eagle-owl’s 5 ½ ft. wingspan as ‘Swoop’ silently glides over the audience; the uncanny imitations of parrots who talk or sing; and the unbelievable trained routines the birds perform, like riding a bicycle across a high wire.
At Wings of Love, Inc, we bring the incredible avian and horticultural worlds to audiences of all ages. Our non-profit provides an entertaining and educational live bird show with programs that focus on a commitment to conservation and positive reinforcement training, which mentally and physically enrich the birds' (and our) lives. With our dedicated board of a CSI policeman, school educator and professional trainer, we are able to create routines to fit specific themes, tie-ins with curriculum or information.
